In the 1920s, guitar players became enamored with the unique "wa wa wa" sound produced by trumpet players through the use of their mutes. This filtering effect alters the resonance of the instrument and enhances the funky expressiveness of guitar playing.

Over 40 years later, a chance discovery led to the creation of a device that forever changed the sound of guitar playing - the Cry Baby pedal. This was followed in the 1970s by the development of a similar "wah wah" effect during an aborted synthesizer project, which eventually became the Mu-Tron III envelope filter. These two devices revolutionized almost every genre of music as we know it today.

The pedal allows you to choose from six different types of filter modes, including the CB: Dunlop™ Cry Baby, AX: Vertex™ Axis Wah*, VG: Vox™ Grey Wah*, MuLP: Mu-Tron™ Low Pass, MuBP: Mu-Tron™ Band Pass, and MuHP: Mu-Tron™ High Pass.
